This state of Florida and federally registered electrical
apprenticeship training school was developed by a group of
electrical contractors who recognized the need for a more highly
qualified workforce and know that apprenticeship training is the
most effective way to develop more skilled tradeworkers.
These contractors support our apprenticeship program by serving on
our committees; donating material; paying for training services; and volunteering
their time to ensure a top-notch electrical training program.
In order to participate in our program, the
contractor needs to:
-
Sign a Participating Employers Agreement
-
Sign the apprentice's work records (
hours worked ) on a monthly basis
-
Complete on the job evaluations twice a year
A participating employer is responsible:
-
To work your apprentice for 40 hours each
week in the specific trade to which he is being apprenticed. The
work environment must be safe and drug-free.
-
To assign work which reinforces the
apprentice’s theoretical instruction. Please avoid overtime work
on Tuesdays and Thursdays so that your apprentice may be in
class on time.
-
To pay for training services on time when you receive a
bill from our office.
-
To cooperate with our office by completing
paperwork in a timely manner.
-
To contact our office immediately whenever an
apprentice leaves your employ, or if you have a change of
address, telephone number or fax number.
